A true leader? Or a terrible mistake?
Hundreds of miles separate Aaron from the finish line of a dogsled race he never meant to enter. With his best lead dog dropped from the race and unknown obstacles still ahead, he must take a leap of faith relying on a young dog he has never learned to trust and whose leadership skills have never been tested. Until now.
Stories in the Angel Paws series celebrate the unique bond between canines and humans with heartfelt, moving, and insightful tales for anyone who has ever loved a dog.
Leader Angel Paws edition by Jordan Taylor Religion Spirituality eBooks
"Start with the dogs. End with the dogs. In the middle, pray." That was the advice Aaron's father-in-law gave him. As he raced in a dog sled race he had never entered and did not want to run, Aaron wasn't sure that was the best advice that could have been given him. Still, what did he have to lose?Having already lost several dogs in the race - including his best leader - Aaron was open to the advice. But would it be enough?
Not only had Aaron lost his best lead dog, but the dog now in the lead was the one dog he had told his wife, Terah, that he wouldn't race. She could race him if she wanted, but Aaron was done with Leader.
Yes, that was the name Terah had given the puppy: she said it suited him. She had definitely seen something in Leader that Aaron couldn't see.
Well, now it was time to find out if Terah had been right about this dog. Since she had been in an accident and suffered broken bones, Terah couldn't participate in the race. But they had obligations to their sponsors so Aaron took her place and was now in this way-too-long-for-him race.
Find out who was right about Leader. Would he even be able to pull the team to the finish line? Could Aaron be persuaded to trust this particular dog?
It's a short story so if you start reading now, you'll find the answers before you know it. Brave the cold and the snow, the darkness and the sleepiness, and join Aaron as he gets the dogs to pull him toward the finish line. That's the only way you will learn whether or not they make it because I'm certainly not going to tell.
Another good story to continue the series. Enjoy!

Leader Angel Paws edition by Jordan Taylor Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
good read
This was a great read. it was not about winning but about staying the course. It was about trusting in Leader and his wife's instincts of Leader from the time he was born. If your love of animals is strong and you are up for a good story about them, then this book is for you.
I never liked the sport of dog sledding racing. But I read this book anyway.. I feel sorry for the dogs.
Jordan Taylor's books from (Angel Paws) are great. The events that the dogs and their humans experience, can and do really happen along with all the heartfelt feelings. I have gifted these same books to my daughter. She is enjoying these short story reads as well.
Loved this story of a misunderstood dog - well misunderstood by all but one person who believed in him. Well written. I really enjoyed the short stories written by someone who truly knows dogs.
I was not even a quarter of the way into this book and I had to put it down -
NOT because I found it unbelieveable or did not like it. In fact I liked it SO MUCH that I put it down to email friends and tell them to grab it right away.
This is a short, fast read but well written. The reader cares for the characters (human and K9) and is concerned for their well being.
If the author decides to turn this idea into a longer novel, I will also buy it!
Wonderful story about sled dogs and one in particular. It shows how much we can learn by paying attention.
The dog, Leader has so much deep sense we often tend to overlook it. Because on the surface he appears to be just a goofy pup.
Sure would have loved this to be a much longer story. More could have been done with Leader and his relationship with Aaron.
