Shame On You Fool Me Once Tara Sivec 9781477817483 Books

I haven't read a Tara series in awhile so when I saw this set on sale, I had to grab it.

I am a sucker for long lost loves, but I adore that this was a sort of he-waited-and-followed-her kind of love. Kennedy is not heart broken over her divorced, you get more of a feeling she is embarrassed and disappointed. Griffin was her best friend, and sort of the 3rd wheel of her and her ex since high school.

The have a long history. Come to find out ... he always loved her.

I loved the side action of this book. It was funny and while dangerous, it was exciting.

I also of course loved the best friends. I loved how they were different and awesome.

My only reason for 4 stars was the kids. She is divorced and her ex is not very involved and while her bounty hunting is awesome - where were they besides just a few funnies about their clothes and interests. 1am at the office?

Moving on to the next book and friend!

Shame On You Fool Me Once Tara Sivec 9781477817483 Books Reviews

A lot of my friends love Tara’s work, I don’t love it the way they do but I like her work for the most part. This book has been my favorite of hers that I have read so far.
I loved Kennedy. She comes from a very close family, sometimes works with her father (a bail bondsman), has family who are cops, and always shows up to the family house for game time. She’s a strong woman, a veteran, smart, sassy, great sense of sarcastic humor. But she also a little jaded. Her husband cheated on her and her close friend and the guy she used to cry her eyes out to in a war zone knew about the affair and never told her. So needless to say her life has massively changed and now she’s single with two girls to take care of and an ex husband who can barely be bothered to show up. She was really fun to read.
Enter Griffin, the guy who knew about the affair, used to be one of her closest friends, and currently is in competition with her to see who can catch the crazy guy first. Thing about Griffin is that he is just a good guy. He loves Kennedy and her girls, he has always stuck around, especially for the girls. And he’s always had a thing for Kennedy, like since they were in high school together. The chemistry between these two is awesome, and because the characters are just so likable all you want is to pull for these two to figure out how to work everything out. He also has a great sense of humor, the prank he pulls on Kennedy with the phones, of my gosh, hilarious, especially when Kennedy’s dad gets involved.
The whole book is really a fun read. The humor is great, the plot of trying to track down the insane bail jumper is awesome, especially the stolen dog. Kennedy’s friends are both interesting and funny as well. If you are looking for a good time with lots of laughs this would definitely be the book for you.
I don't know who started the concept of Trilogies, but it is really a standard of the romance book industry. This is no exception and only needs 3 short reviews so all are the same. The concept is that three friends, who have all had failed relationships with cheating, stealing or lying men; are thrown together in a business venture. In book one 'Shame on You' , 'Kennedy O'Brien is ex-Army back from Afghanistan who finds her husband cheating on her and starts a detective/cheating spouse/bounty hunter agency called of course 'Fool Me Once Invesigations'. Joined by her two best friends, Paige McCarty, whose gambling addicted husband used her and broke her nearly million dollar modeling 'bank' and Lorelei Warner , whose husband decided he was gay; they juggle their careers of modeling and the law while helping Kennedy, 'the muscle' get the business started. They all naturally have trust issues with men. In 'Shame on You Kennedy has problems with accepting her husband's 'best friend', Griffin Crawford, as her one and only. In book 2 'Shame on Me', Paige the 'beauty', must come to terms with her Mr Right, Matt Russo, a supposed cheating husband, who she's trying to catch. In book 3, 'Shame on Him', Lorelei, the 'brains', a stuffy, organized lawyer type controlled by her rich lawyer parents must learn to live her own life and find out if there are any 'good ones' out there namely PI Dallas Osborne. There is of course a different mystery plot to each and the characters are well developed (one of the advantages of the trilogy format) by Tara Sivec. Only possible complaint is that at 138, 146, and 147 pages they are quick reads but could have been just a single book. I found all three stories humorous, hot and quite enjoyable reads with all the usual approach /avoidance conflicts in the 'dance of lovers' in romances. Shame they didn't have another partner for book 4.
Fun and flirty. This series is kind of a cross between the Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and Gemma Halliday's High Heels series. It's part mystery, part romance (friends to lovers) and totally full of laughs. It's shorter than your average novel and the story line moves quickly. There are some crazy antics that tend to lean towards the sillier side. Although there are one or two steamier scenes, it's not that main focus of the book. (Though it is a hot topic in the Protagonist's mind and often mentioned/thought about.)

Three good friends, who had each been burned by a man in one way or another, join forces and open a Private Investigation business. Each one bringing something different to the table. This book features Kennedy, (who is hired by her father (a bails bondsman) to hunt down a bail jumper.) A divorced single mother of two, veteran and totally anti-girly-girl. She hates shopping and spending time in the salon. She curses a a lot, knows how to throw a punch, and doesn't take shit from anyone, including her tween daughter who is the total opposite of her.

The characters are fun to follow. It's easy to read. If you are looking for a light-hearted quick read that has humor, sass and sexiness, this is the book for you!
