PRISON PLANET eBook Billie Sue Mosiman

In the not too distant future the borders that separated North America have been dissolved. The leaders of the new Tri-Gov, like all other dictators before them, have tightened the iron fist around the working people. Middle class people who once thought only of their day to day existence now find themselves outcasts in search of freedom from the ruling class. Jackie once a mother, housewife and professor of history, now finds herself willing to trek a no man's land in order to provide her children with something they do not have: the chance to live and breathe in free air. And like all mothers, she will do what it takes to provide for her children.

Billie Sue Mosiman has painted a desolate and unfortunately all too possible future. All is not lost, however. One of the greatest triumphs of the human spirit stories I have read in a long time. Worth the read and the re-read. You too may find yourself realizing just how close to this word we already are.

PRISON PLANET eBook Billie Sue Mosiman Reviews

good, not great
This is a short story. Very well written.
Can you imagine a Planet only for
Prisoners? Who would do that???
Read and see what happens!
The post financial/political apocalyptic ideas Mosiman explores here are intriguing, and mostly believable. Unfortunately, the main characters are forgettable, and much that could of have been developed in the story line, simply isn't.
I had no idea what to expect when I started Prison Planet. Its set way in the future - a future that I can only hope will never happen. I was engrossed from the beginning all the way to the end. It had sad moments but also had hope.
Prison planet is one of the best stories I've ever read. It's amazing, and filled with imagination and creativity. When i'm looking for excellence, I pick up this author, as I'm NEVER let down. Great read. Wish I could give it ten stars!!!!

A very short story but kind of scary in the point that you think that it could maybe happen one day. We don't know what the future holds but this story could say volumes about our government and the directions that it has been going in the last decade or so. Overall, a good story, just be prepared for some sadness!
Personally, I love the occasional dystopian story and this novella fills the bill. This story is well written and compelling. A future where you can be imprisoned and put to death for poverty doesn't really seem all that outlandish these days. I hope to read more by this author in the future. Read it soon...while you can still AFFORD to that is.
